Kristen Monnik, originally from South Africa, grew up in the New Orleans area and began studying the violin at the age of 7. In her 18 years of playing, Kristen has performed with several different orchestras and chamber ensembles, participated in competitions, played in theater shows, hundreds of weddings, and a ska band. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2009 and graduated from the Loyola University School of Music in 2013. Kristen currently performs as the assistant concertmaster for the New Orleans Volunteer Orchestra and the Ensemble 504 Chamber Orchestra, and on various stages in the New Orleans area.
